Mercy Of Nature

Once a bustling manufacturing town, Flint Michigan lost its sheen as its industrial production followed the law of gravity and plummeted down. The recession has not helped either and its population is now down to a mere 110,000 spread over 34 miles. Houses have been shut due foreclosures, and so stand abandoned, stripped of any color and lending a rather run-down look to the region. The vandals too have been at work and so the destruction seems almost complete. The town council however is firm that their town should not go down under and so are working on the concept of shrink and save. Taking into account the several quadrants that remain vacant, the few that are inhabited, the town planners, have decided to logically restrict living to a few tenable neighborhoods, and afforest those vast lands that are at the mercy of nature and vandals.
